Hometown Hockey Update
Hometown Hockey is coming to town December 30th and 31st, 2017!
There are many opportunities to come out and enjoy this event. Families are invited to come out and take in the experience including:
- Live Music;
- Activities including the Gaming tent and Obstacle Course;
- Skating at Central Park;
- Free Hot Chocolate;

ACTIVITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN AS A TEAM:
Come out for the Ball Hockey Tournament & Dr. Oetker’s Pizza - Saturday, December 30th, 2017:
TIMBIT TEAMS BALL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT - Saturday, December 30th, 2017 - 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. All other SGMHA teams are invited to participate between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pizza from Dr. Oetker’s to follow your game!!
All other SGMHA teams are invited to participate between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Game play will be within your level, i.e. Novice teams will play Novice teams, Atom teams will play Atom teams, Pee Wee teams will play Pee teams, and so on.
If your team is interested, please have your Manager or Coach e-mail the office firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once teams have been confirmed a schedule for your time slot will be forwarded.
Space is limited so please e-mail right away to get registered. If we have enough interest, there may be an opportunity to play on Sunday!
Sunday - December 31st, 2017 - PARADE OF CHAMPIONS - right before the Live Broadcast:
We would like to have as many teams as possible come out! Your level Director will be in contact with each team in your division with details.
Each team will walk through the site and then will be captured on the live broadcast!! Teams are encouraged to stay for the live broadcast and the prizes that will be given out!
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT ON SITE, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED (these slots are NOT in lieu of the volunteer requirement with SGMHA). Please review the list below and the job description. Ball Hockey and Hot Chocolate:
Ball Hockey Rink (minimum 16 years of age)
- Able to stand for duration of volunteer hours, with breaks throughout
- Basic hockey knowledge
Referee in Ball Hockey Rink (minimum of 16 years per age)
- Refereeing groups of kids;
- Retrieving balls
- Managing line-up
Assist kids in putting Gear on (minimum 16 years per age)
- Managing line up
- Assisting kids of all ages in putting on gear;
- Handing out pinnies
Hot Chocolate (minimum 18 years per age):
Assist with making hot chocolate for distribution in the Rogers Fan Hub
Comfortable lifting 30 - 40 lbs;
3 people required - 1 making, 1 transporting water, 1 serving;
Training will be provided on Saturday before the site opens;
Clean carafes at the end of the night and dispose of garbage/recycling;
